LIFTER STUDY

My name is Yolanda Campbell Lifter and I have begun a one-name study of the surname Lifter. My goal is to identify every individual with this surname who has resided in the United States.

Since some of my information is from compiled records, I am working on obtaining copies of the original records as time permits. As a genealogist, I realize the importance of citing my sources and I will try to verify each fact.

My husband's great-grandfather was John Oscar Lifter was born in Finland with the surname of Nostaja. He came to Worcester County, Massachusetts, in the late 1890's.
